SYNTHETIC & ART SILK MILLS' RESEARCH ASSOCIATION (SASMIRA)

Established in 1950, the synthetic & art silk mills' research association (sasmira), approved body of ministry of textiles, goi, has evolved as a leading textile research organization. Over seven decades, sasmira has made seminal contributions in technical textiles, developing contour woven socks for lcas, textile testing equipment, seamless geotextiles, and waterless textile processing technologies. In 2008, it was designated as the center of excellence for agrotextiles (coe-agrotech), marking a notable expansion in its research focus towards integrating textile technology with agricultural advancements.
